Where to celebrate 4th of July this year in Columbia, TN?
With summer fast approaching, we can all look forward to cold drinks, grilled food, and a spectacle of fireworks as we celebrate the day of our nation’s independence, the Fourth of July. If you’re looking to celebrate in a major way, you might consider stepping out and joining your fellow Tennesseans in public jubilation. To that end, let us recommend some of the best places in and around Columbia to observe Independence Day in 2022.
10th Annual July 3rd Celebration in Fairview
A 36-mile drive north takes you to the city of Fairview, which holds an annual celebration on the day before Independence Day. This year is its 10th Annual July 3rd Celebration, to take place in the afternoon at Fairview City Hall. The extra-early nature of the event means you can enjoy double the excitement — the day of the holiday as well as the day before.
Providing entertainment for the day is Rubiks Groove, a Nashville-based cover band performing pop, rock, and hip-hop hits from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s. This high-energy and quirkily costumed ensemble is likely to be an excellent complement to the accompanying festivities and an appropriate build-up to the nighttime fireworks show.
Location: The 10th Annual July 3rd Celebration takes place at Fairview City Hall, located at 7100 City Center Way in Fairview, Tennessee.
Time: The event takes place on Sunday, July 3, 2022, starting a 3 p.m. The estimated duration of the event is 6 1/2 hours, meaning an expected conclusion at around 9:30 p.m.
Price: The event is free to the public.
July 4th Red White & Blue Car Show
Right here in Columbia, Maury County Park will be the location of the July 4th Red White & Blue Car and Truck Show. It’s tough to find something more American than a display of automobiles, so this event is the perfect way to kick off the rest of your holiday festivities. Members of the community are welcome to participate to show off their ride to a panel of judges and earn a dash plaque. Aside from the car show, there will be music as well as food provided by several local food trucks, like:
- Ooh La La: New Orleans–style shaved ice.
- Slothful Waffle: Artisanal buttermilk waffles with sauces.
- The Spice Is Right: A variety of popular food items — such as burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and nachos — kicked up with a hint of spice.
- Take Flight Wings and Things: Chicken wings, loaded fries, and other popular items.
- Wing-1-1 LLC: A broad variety of crispy chicken wings and loaded fries, plus rotating items.
The 4th of July Red White & Blue Car and Truck Show is a charity event whose proceeds go to Columbia Counseling Ministries, an organization that provides quality counseling services to children, teens, adults, families, and couples in the community. The organization offers its services based on a sliding scale, allowing people from various socioeconomic backgrounds to access the help they need. With that in mind, you can be certain that your attendance at Maury County Park on July 4, 2022, will go toward a good cause.
Address: Maury County Park is at 1018 Maury County Park Dr. here in Columbia, Tennessee.
Time: On Monday, July 4, 2022, the July 4th Red White & Blue Car and Truck Show at Maury Park starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. If you’d like to participate in the car and truck show, come as early as 8 a.m. to register.
