The Exterior Look and Design

2023 Camaro ZL1
For 2023, the Camaro ZL1 keeps its iconic look and exterior design. The only significant updates are some new exterior colors for you to choose from. You can now get this Chevy performance car in Radiant Red Metallic and Sharkskin Metallic.
The exterior design of the Camaro ZL1 features 20-inch Dark Graphite forged alloy wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 summer tires. These tires have an exclusive compound designed to perform on the track. It comes with six-piston Brembo performance brakes with monoblock front calipers and two-piece front rotors for the front and back. It also has a ZL1-specific rear spoiler and front and rear black bow-tie emblems instead of gold emblems.
Around the back, the dual-mode exhaust with quad outlets delivers an aggressive exhaust sound. It features stainless steel tips and a black rear diffuser with a rear vent.
Performance Features
The ZL1 boasts upgraded, performance-enhancing equipment that you won’t find in the rest of the Camaro lineup. It has a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine that produces 650 horsepower and works with a six-speed manual transmission with a hill-hold feature. If you prefer an automatic transmission, a 10-speed one is available. Other upgraded features for the ZL1 include an external engine oil cooler, an extra capacity cooling system, and an auxiliary engine coolant cooler. All these upgrades help maximize the horsepower output.
When you get behind the wheel of this Camaro, you’ll love the Track mode that’s been added to the drive mode selector and the launch control system Chevrolet designed to modulate engine torque and maximize acceleration power off the line. The electronic slip differential is another added feature, and the performance-tuned suspension is specifically aligned for the magnetic dampers, stabilizer bars, and springs. The ZL1 also comes with a magnetic ride control system that monitors each of the wheels and automatically adjusts the vertical suspension to maintain a smooth ride.
The Cabin Features
You’ll enjoy the sporty feel of the cabin as you ride your new Camaro ZL1 around Columbia. It has Recaro front bucket seats covered in high-quality leather. The steering wheel and shift knob come wrapped in simulated suede, and it has alloy sport pedals. An eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat comes standard, along with a six-way power-adjustable passenger seat. Headed and ventilated front seats are also standard. If you need extra storage, you can fold down the rear seat to open up the cargo area.
Other standard comfort features include a heated steering wheel, and since this is the ZL1 model, the steering wheel also has a flat-bottom design for extra legroom and quicker heel/toe shifting.
The Technology
Inside, all the tech you need is right at your fingertips. The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system has an 8-inch touch screen with responsive controls. Wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, along with Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, and voice recognition. A Wi-Fi hotspot is available, and you can also get an integrated navigation system.
The standard Bose premium stereo system has nine speakers, and you can get SiriusXM with 360L radio to play your favorite music and podcasts while driving around the Columbia area. You can enjoy a 12-month Platinum trial subscription with this version of SiriusXM, giving you access to more channels and exclusive content. The wireless charging pad reduces the need for cumbersome wires when powering up your devices.
An 8-inch diagonal driver information display has a full-color design to make it easy for you to see. It features warning messages, driver personalization, and essential vehicle information.
Safety Systems and Driver Awareness Features
Safety is just as important when you’re behind the wheel of a performance vehicle as it is when driving a daily commuter. The Camaro ZL1 has an electronic parking brake and Stabilitrak electronic stability control to help keep you secure when performing emergency maneuvers. It also comes with LED daytime running lights, a full suite of air bags, and GM’s OnStar system. Chevrolet Connected Services is also available.
The 2023 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 comes with several advanced driver aids. The HD Rear Vision Camera provides a clear view behind the car to help you avoid objects and people. It also comes with the following:
- Forward collision warning.
- Automatic emergency braking.
- Head-up display.
- Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
- Rear parking sensors.
- Lane change alert.
All the Camaro trims, including the ZL1, come with Chevy’s Teen Driver system. This configurable system allows primary drivers to customize vehicle settings to encourage better driving habits and behaviors. It can limit some features, such as stereo volume, and will automatically turn on other safety systems if equipped. An in-vehicle report lets you see their driving habits, so you can communicate and coach any new drivers in your family as they get comfortable behind the wheel.
The ZL1 1LE Extreme Performance Package
When you want to maximize the Camaro’s performance even more, you can add the ZL1 1LE Extreme Performance Package. This package is only available for the coupe and catapults the ZL1’s performance to extreme levels. It upgrades the tires to a set that’s wider and stickier. It also adds manually adjustable front suspension and spool-valve dampers.
