The Mulehouse

The Mulehouse is a majestic destination for anyone who worships live music or just wants to have a good time. Established within the walls of an old historic church in downtown Columbia, The Mulehouse literally sets the stage for live entertainment.

The atmosphere is extremely welcoming and professional. They have rules and regulations in place to preserve the experience for all spectators and ensure everyone experiences the music in comfort. They are a cashless venue, so be sure to leave your bills at home for this one and have your Visa, American Express, Mastercard, or Discover ready to swipe. Their bag policy limits the size of your bag to 12-inch by 12-inch by 6-inch or smaller because seating can sometimes be tight, and we don’t want anyone uncomfortable. A clutch or similar is perfect for an evening at The Mulehouse.

Upcoming events you don’t want to miss include The Songwriters’ Room featuring Craig Campbell and Rob Hatch. Scheduled for later this year, they also have the Eaglemaniacs, an Evening with Leonid and Friends, and Big Boo Cast Live with Melanie Shankle and Sophie Hudson. Tickets for these events range anywhere from $15 to $55, depending on the show and your seat.

Located in the downtown historic district of the Mule Capital of the World, this beautiful building sits waiting at 812 South High St. for you to visit. The stained glass windows and lighting provide the perfect setting to experience live music on a different level. You can even rent out the site for your own personal parties or special events! Parking is located behind the building, with lots of extra street parking if the lot fills up. For information about their schedule, or to learn how you can reserve The Mulehouse for your next event, call 931-490-9400.

The Boondox

The Boondox is the premiere live music bar in Columbia. Because of its prime location just south of Nashville, Columbia is a magnet for raw up-and-coming talent. Be the first to see some of our future stars perform live at the Boondox. The site is extremely clean and has one of the most welcoming atmospheres found in Columbia. They have a spacious dance floor, and a comfortable seating arrangement with room to move easily around and not bump into other customers. The cowboy-themed decor adds to the fun of the environment and reminds you to have a little fun.

The Boondox is an affordable destination, so it is perfect for the newlywed couple on a budget or an easy hang-out for a group of friends. There is always something happening at the Boondox.

Every week on Tuesday, they host a corn hole tournament beginning at 7 p.m. If you’re looking for a fun and competitive family bonding experience, head down to the Boondox on Wednesday. They have Survey Time Showdown. It is a Family Feud-style game concept with hilariously entertaining questions. Teams earn points based on the popularity of their answers, and not on whether it is right or wrong. Every Thursday is karaoke night, also a family-friendly event. The venue also hosts benefit concerts and has a rotating schedule of performers ready to entertain a live audience.

If you’re looking for a meal with your music, look no further. The Boondox has a wide selection of menu items sure to fill grumbly bellies. They have your basic appetizers like fried cheese sticks and fried pickles. But you’ll also find filling choices like burgers, pizza, hotdogs, wraps, and even chicken parmesan. Kids and other picky eaters are sure to find something appetizing.
