Halloween is a bustling time in and around Columbia, Tennessee. If you’re getting excited about this fun-filled season, we have several events you’ll want to add to your calendar. It’s important to plan ahead for autumn activities around here, as many of these events can sell out. Whether you’re looking for family fun, a girl’s day out, or a terrifying thrill for your teenagers, we have some suggestions that are sure to add excitement and interest to your Halloween season. Add these events to your agenda to make sure you don’t miss out on any of these events this year.

Pumpkin Paradise

If you’re looking for a seasonal event that’s suited to even the smallest visitors, Pumpkin Paradise is the way to go. This local pumpkin patch offers an abundance of delights for children of all ages. You’ll find a pedal track, climbing tires, slides, swings, a corn box, a gravel pit, and much more. You can test your skill at tether ball, try the kick dart board, play a giant game of tic-tac-toe, go bowling, tackle the obstacle course, or try out the climbing wall.

The whole family can take on the challenge of the corn maze or hop on the hayride to go visit the farm’s cows. Visit the pollinator’s garden to learn more about the tiniest workers on the farm and how important they are, then check out the farmer’s garden for a closer look at how your food makes it from the ground to your table. Pumpkin Paradise is both entertaining and educational. You’ll find signs around the property that offer interesting insights into the life of a farmer.

This seasonal event takes place on weekends from Saturday, Sept. 24 to Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022. You can also book Pumpkin Paradise for birthday parties and field trips if you’re planning a special event.

Hours: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Amber Falls Haunted Wine Run 5k

Halloween events needn’t be dark and creepy. Some are bright, colorful, and downright tasty, like the Amber Falls Haunted Wine Run 5k . The event takes place at the Amber Falls Winery & Cellars, where you’ll find a stunning landscape and perfectly picturesque autumn scenery. The timed race adds just the right touch of competition for those who like to push for first place. If you’re more comfortable taking a slower pace, you’re welcome to take this approach too and stroll through the winery grounds.

The Halloween-themed wine run will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Oct. 30. The winery opens at 12:30 p.m. with live music by Mitch Mann and a food truck on hand from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Grab your friends and plan for a fun fall day enjoying it all.

Creepy Hollow Woods

Creepy Hollow Woods features three attractions, so you’re guaranteed to have an action-packed evening of haunted Halloween fun. The Trails of Terror take you through a foggy cemetery, past an abandoned school, and through terror-filled woods. In the Halls of Horror, you’ll make your way through several chilling scenes as a fortune teller warns you of your fearful fate. The Zombie Maze will challenge you to brave the horrors of a zombie hoard pursuing you through this twisty trek.

The event is complete with bonfires, concessions, and queue entertainment, so there’s always something to keep you engaged. Admission to Creepy Hollow Woods is $30 per person and includes all three attractions. If you have a group of 15 or more, you can enjoy rates of just $28 per person.

Hours: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday from Sept. 30 to Oct. 29; 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 30 and 31.

Haunted Hillaween Ball

The Haunted Hillaween Ball is a delightfully thrilling Halloween event scheduled to take place at Magnolia & Vine. This historic venue offers a charming place for all manner of parties, from weddings to pop-up bars. The Haunted Hillaween Ball will take things to a whole new level with fire dancers, live music, and an assortment of spooky surprises.

You can enjoy craft cocktails and small plates throughout the event to keep your energy up all night long. The ball even features a cash costume contest, so you’ll want to dress to impress. The party takes place from 8 p.m. to midnight on Oct. 29. Tickets go on sale in September.

Millers Thrillers

Millers Thrillers is a seasonal favorite. This event pops up every October to offer a wide variety of haunted thrills. The Zombie Hayride Reloaded is a wild combination of running through the woods, shooting zombies, and taking in a bit of musical theater. You’ve never seen anything quite like it. This event is suitable for children ages 8 and over.

Hillbilly Hollar delivers a little more intensity and is best suited for kids aged 10 and over. The hollar crawls with rough rednecks who’ve taken up residence around the area’s abandoned phosphate mines. Living around these parts, the residents aren’t quite right, and you never know what kind of frights you might encounter in their territory.

The Entertainment Zone features stage shows with everything from high wire pirate sword fights to a zombie drumline. Fireworks, lasers, and music create a rousing atmosphere that’s sure to keep the party going late into the night. The area also features playful photo ops, so you’ll have something special to take home from this memorable event.
