What technology is new in the 2022 Chevrolet line-up?
For the 2022 model year, Chevrolet revamps some of its models in the lineup to challenge rivals in their class such as the Chevy Silverado, Traverse, Trailblazer, Bolt EUV, and Colorado. Some upgrades range from exterior makeovers, powertrains, and new tech features for a tech-savvy driver in Columbia, Tennessee. 2022 Chevrolet Suburban
The automaker’s largest SUV features various tech upgrades for 2022, such as a 12.3-inch customizable infotainment system on LT trim and above. The digital infotainment screen is equipped with Google built-in, Google Assistant, Google Play, and Google Maps. The Suburban’s base trim gets a 10-inch touch screen which is mounted on the center stack and comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Safety-tech enhancements on the Suburban include front and rear parking assist, lane-departure warning. The 2022 Chevy Suburban gets a revamped exterior camera system of up to 13 camera views on all trim levels. The High Country and Premier models also feature reverse automatic braking.
Also included on the Suburban is a Buckle to Drive feature, which prevents you from driving off if you haven’t buckled up your seat belt. Optional tech features include dual 12.6-inch rear-seat infotainment touch screens, charging ports, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
The Chevy Silverado 1500 undergoes a significant-tech overhaul to battle its class rivals for the 2022 model year. An upgraded 13.4-inch touch screen, available as a standard feature on LT trim levels and above, replaces the 8-inch touch screen from previous years. The infotainment system features Google-powered voice Assistant, Google Maps, Google Play, Android Automotive OS, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay with Amazon Alexa compatibility.
A 12.3-inch configurable instrument cluster is also new for the 2022 Silverado. An electronic shift controller incorporated in the center console is available for Silverado models that come with bucket seats. The Chevy Safety Assist package now comes standard on every 2022 Silverado 1500. Its features include lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, following distance indicator, front pedestrian braking, and forward-collision alert.
If you opt for the Silverado High Country, you can either choose the Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology or GM’s hands-free driving technology. The hands-free tech feature uses a high-precision GPS, cameras and radar sensors, lidar map data, and a driver-attention system to guide you while driving. It can also be used when trailering so when you’re towing around Columbia, the feature restricts you from lane shifting and automatic lane changing.
2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV
The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV acquires a similar electric powertrain as its sibling, the all-new Bolt EUV. Its driving range improves to 259 miles, and its standard quick charging can give a 100-mile range within 30 minutes of charging.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are integrated onto the new 10.2-inch infotainment touch screen. The system also has built-in apps with Spotify music streaming and Amazon Alexa compatibility.
Wi-Fi connectivity and wireless device charging are available while the EV’s physical volume and tuning knobs supplement the screen’s touch controls for efficiency. They also offer a home screen shortcut for you.
2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV
The electric vehicle is an all-new Chevy model for the 2022 lineup. It has an 11.5-kW onboard charging module and a 120 and 240 dual-level charge cord. The automaker says that it can provide a 95-mile range after 30 minutes of charging with the standard DC fast charger in Columbia.
It boasts Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology, regenerative driving, and one-pedal driving. An 8-inch reconfigurable color gauge cluster and a 10.2-inch infotainment touch screen are available on the EV. Connectivity features include Amazon Alexa, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Wi-Fi.
Chevy Safety Assist driver-assistance features include front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and automatic emergency braking. Additional available features are forward-collision alert, following distance indicator, and adaptive high-beam headlights. The Premier trim also has standard adaptive cruise control. Optional add-ons include the Super Cruise semi-autonomous system and adaptive cruise control.
2022 Chevrolet Traverse
The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse features the High Country and Premier trims have a new 8-inch color driver-information center, Wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. RS, Premier, and High Country trim get standard adaptive cruise control. The higher LT Leather trim also has standard adaptive cruise control, whereas the LT Cloth trim does not.
The Chevy Safety Assist Package now comes standard on every trim. It is available in six sub-features with higher trims boasting a safety seat alert and rear pedestrian alert. Automatic emergency brakes, auto high-beam headlights, and lane-keeping assist are available across the lineup.
The Premier and High Country models have a safety seat alert that automatically pulsates on the right, left, or both sides of your seat to detect the direction of a potential collision. RS, Premier, and High Country also have a standard rear pedestrian alert.
2022 Chevrolet Colorado
The 2022 Chevrolet Colorado is the mid-sized pickup in the Chevrolet lineup which has minor tech enhancements in 2022, such as a Trail Boss Package on the Z71 and LT trims which improves their off-road prowess on Columbia terrains. The package features a leveling kit that uplifts the suspension by an inch and boasts front and middle underbody skid plates.
