This rustic venue can hold up to 100 guests, and it will provide and set up tables, chairs, vintage and antique furniture, beautiful decor, and props. There’s also an outdoor ceremony space that includes antique French doors for a unique backdrop. Mule Town Lumberyard received Wedding Wire’s Couple’s Choice Award in 2019. Their party room holds 60 people, and it includes, tables, chairs, access to their kitchen, a custom chalkboard with original art, and more.
- Meadow Hill Farm
The newly renovated Meadow Hill Farm is more than 100 years old and covers 15 acres. It has gorgeous views, and it’s ideal for a rustic, elegant wedding. You can have your wedding ceremony indoors or outdoors, and this venue can accommodate up to 200 people. There’s an attractive, air-conditioned, 5,600-square-foot wooden barn for receptions, a cocktail garden, a bridal cottage, and flower gardens with a variety of elegant, vintage touches.
The outdoor ceremony space is canopied with beautiful trees, and it’s right next to a sprawling garden. You’ll get a rustic branch arbor and up to 200 pews, chairs, or benches to use during your event. The barn has 20 tables that fit eight to 10 individuals each, 200 fruitwood chairs, vintage-looking lighting with bare bulbs, branch chandeliers, a large barnwood bar, vintage couches, and barnwood cocktail tables. There’s also a large dance floor, a cake table with decor, a gift table with decorations, beautiful drapery, and a sound system.
The bridal cottage makes an excellent backdrop for photos while the bridesmaids help the bride get ready. It’s fully heated and air-conditioned, and there are plenty of mirrors and comfortable places to sit. There are also a groom’s room where the groom and the groomsmen can prepare for the ceremony and a cocktail garden where everyone can relax after the ceremony.
3.Historic Rippavilla
Historic Rippavilla, also called the Rippavilla Plantation, is in Spring Hill, about 15 minutes away from Columbia. This fully restored Greek Revival mansion is more than 160 years old, and it’s on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s furnished with authentic antiques, family heirlooms, and Civil War artifacts.
The grounds cover 98 acres, and they contain family and slave cemeteries, a Freeman’s Bureau schoolhouse, slave quarters, gardens, nature trails, and the Battlefield of Spring Hill. It’s open Wednesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and you can take a guided tour from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It can accommodate up to 300 guests, and you can contact them to schedule an event.
- The Cypress Barn at Miller Lake
Miller Lake is a privately owned, 12-acre lake just outside Columbia. It has a tranquil atmosphere and a stunning view, and the property covers 24 acres. There’s also a luxury bridal suite and groom’s quarters. The Cypress Barn can hold up to 250 guests, but the event could feel crowded with more than 200 people. The barn covers more than 3,000 square feet, and the ceiling is 29 feet high. It doesn’t have heating or air conditioning, but fans or propane heaters are provided. Other amenities include an arbor, two barrels, a rustic chandelier, a movable bar, festive lighting, and benches.
- Westbury House on the Square
Westbury House on the Square is in historic downtown Columbia. The beautiful building was built in the early 1900s and recently restored. It offers over 4,000 square feet, and it has original exposed brick walls, beautiful hardwood floors, and a vintage elevator.
Dimmable crystal chandeliers and a lighted wall draped in fabric provide a romantic atmosphere for any event. You can choose 60-inch, white, round tables, 6-foot rectangular tables, or 32-inch bistro tables. Linens and decor aren’t included, but rentals include the use of the kitchen for warming, preparing, or refrigerating food.
The loft provides an excellent space for the Ladies’ Lounge, a place where brides and bridesmaids can prepare for the big day. After the wedding ceremony, it can transform into a bar or lounge with an excellent view. A groom’s quarters is opening soon, and there’s a private courtyard with brick walls and string lights. The vintage elevator makes a great photo booth where you and your guests can preserve memorable moments.
- Hay Long Chapel
You can visit Hay Long Chapel in historic downtown Mount Pleasant, about 20 minutes away from Columbia. The chapel was built in 1903 as an Episcopal church, and the charming white building is ideal for a rustic wedding or another special event. Rentals are available from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and a nonrefundable deposit is required. There’s also a stage, three indoor restrooms, a bridal suite, a groom’s quarters, antique wooden pews, and a built-in bar. - Whistle Hollow
Whistle Hollow Wedding & Event Venue is in Ardmore, about an hour south of Columbia. This place will take care of everything for you, including a three-tier wedding cake, a self-serve buffet, a DJ for the ceremony and the reception, flowers, and a photographer. The property holds up to 300 guests, and it covers 36 acres. You can enjoy beautiful mountain views, a fire pit, an arbor made from cedar trees, and a wood barn. A golf cart shuttle service can help bring guests from the parking lot and then take them to the reception hall after the ceremony.
